God sent us His Spirit to guide us each moment! #PitStopSeries

PitStop_SM18

Let’s go into this week ready to listen to the Holy Spirit. Continue to dive deep into His Word with the #PitStopSeries Bible Reading Plan, and get ready for the Spirit’s voice to be amplified! Also, a huge thank you to Kaitlyn Crandall for stepping in as worship leader yesterday. You and the team led us straight to Jesus!

The 5:

A recap of Dave Crandall’s Message, “Blind Spot” in 5 points or less.

  1. God isn’t just about the BIG PICTURE, he literally fills us with his Spirit at the point of salvation, so that every moment of every day we have immediate contact and a constant connection with him. Our daily interaction with God through the reading of His Word, amplifies the Spirit’s voice in our life.
  2. When we listen to the Holy Spirit he will help however we need it.
  3. When we listen to the Holy Spirit he will lead into only what’s best.
  4. When we listen to the Holy Spirit he will highlight God’s will.
  5. When we listen to the Holy Spirit he will alert to what’s next.

What We Learned:

Yesterday we talked about how jawbreakers are unchanging, just like God’s plan for our lives. Resisting God’s plan can be just as frustrating as trying to chomp through a jawbreaker. Jonah tried to run from God’s plan, hoping he’d change his mind. But God is unchanging. We need to learn from Jonah’s story and obey God when he tells us to do something. Read more about Jonah’s story in the Old Testament in the book of Jonah!

In The Car:

What are some things around the house you and the kids don’t want to do but have to do? Talk about why these things have to be done, and discuss who would do them if you and the kids did not. Have everyone share about a time they were a “Jonah” and tried to run away from a job they had been given and how it ended up!

At Bedtime:

Thank God for his love and mercy. Thank him for forgiving us, even when we directly disobey him. Pray for wisdom and strength to follow him no matter what this week! Even if it gets hard or scary, thank God for always being there!
