A recap of Dave Crandall’s Message, “Doing It Solo Or Blended” in 5 points or less.

1. Solo parents know this: you are not in this alone, God hasn’t abandoned you, and although your situation isn’t ideal, it isn’t desperate either!
2. Blended parents, I challenge you to find common ground, never use your child as a weapon, and be the bigger parent.
3. And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:8)
4. Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him. (Psalm 127:3)
5. Do nothing out of rivalry or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. (Philippians 2:3)

Kids Zone: Take It Home With You!

What We Learned:

Satan went to battle with God by attacking Adam and Eve in the garden. He lied to them and they chose their own way instead of God’s way. They disobeyed God causing sin to enter the world and separated us from God forever.

In the car:

Ask your kids if they know what sin is? Sin is anything we do that disobeys God. Next time they disobey, try explaining it as sin instead of misbehaving. See if they can connect the way sin hurts God’s heart now, just like Adam and Eve did when they sinned in the garden.

At bedtime:

Pray with your kids thanking God for forgiving our sin when we choose to follow him forever. Thank him for loving us even when we make bad choices, just like our moms and dad still love us through our mistakes!
