The Light you reflect is dependent upon the light you receive. #TheMoralOfTheStory
How bright are you shining?
Wow! Part 3 of The Moral of the Story has us wanting to shine our light even brighter! A big thank you to Josh Miller for challenging us to look a little closer at the light within us. Let’s strive to allow our reflection of God’s Light to shine brightly by improving our connection to the source and removing any attempt to hide or filter the light of God.
The 5:
A recap of Josh Miller’s Message, “The Lamp”
in 5 points or less.
- Don’t try to cover up your issues but share your troubles with the Lord. Be genuine, he’s listening.
- You no longer have to hide in shame of who you are or that He is your God.
- Don’t waste your light by hiding it.
- You can shine brightly when you stay connected to the source.
- If you want to shine brightly, don’t desire to be someone else or fit into this world. Do not filter the light within you.

Kids Zone: Take It Home With You!
What We Learned:
The disciples and Jesus were crossing a lake when a deadly storm hit! The disciples woke Jesus in a panic, but Jesus asked them why they were afraid. Then Jesus rebuked the wind and the waves, and it was calm! Our lives can feel like that sea, always churning, dangerous, and unknown. But Jesus can save us from anything! We were challenged this week to consistently take our fears and worries to Jesus in prayer, and thank him continually as we notice answers to our prayers!
In The Car:
Tell your kids about a time when you were afraid. Did you panic like the disciples? How have you gotten into the habit of praying first, and trusting God to take care of the scary stuff?
At Bedtime:
Pray with your kids thanking God for being bigger and stronger than the scary stuff. Thank God that he has conquered fear and death, and that we never have to be afraid! Pray for people who are worrying or stuck in a habit of fear that they would trust Jesus to take that fear away!
