"Because of volunteering, I've had the opportunity to meet so many more people than I would normally!"
At Friendship we believe the Church is not a building, it’s people, serving together to glorify God as an effective and influential church. So, each week, we highlight a volunteer or staff member who serves at Friendship, because our volunteers and staff make everything we do possible! We’ve asked each person some fun questions to help you get to know them better.
If you’ve ever had a cup of coffee at Friendship, there’s a high chance it was served by Hailey Newman. “Because of volunteering, I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many more people than I would normally! I’m proud to say most of my friends are now from Friendship! And being on the coffee team has made me remember MOST people’s names. I still have to ask occasionally.” Thank you Hailey for keeping us all caffeinated!

What brought you to Friendship originally?
My fantastic neighbors, Sarah and Dustin Pead. They gave me an invite card 3 years ago on my Christmas cookies 🙂 I’m so blessed to have them.
Do you have any pets?
Yes! I have a very spoiled cat named Annika. We lost her brother earlier this year 🙁
What is your favorite holiday?
I would have to say Christmas. I love how everyone is in such a giving mood and the Christmas music. It’s always great to see my family all come together.
Do you have any hobbies during your spare time?
I enjoy reading and visiting friends, especially friends with children. They grow up so quickly and my heart melts when they ask for me 🙂
What would be your biggest fear?
My biggest fear is when the times comes to my parents having failing health and eventually losing them. They are my support system and I would be lost without them.
What would be your dream vacation?
It would definitely be Bora Bora. That would be a vacation with no cell phones just so I could enjoy God’s beautiful creation.
If you had a super power, what would it be?
I would love to hear what people are actually thinking but then I think I would always be offended, so I’m gonna say I would pick to fly.
What is your favorite scripture?
One of my favorites is the one my friends reminded me of recently on a necklace she gave me – The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still. (Exodus 14:14 NIV)
Do you have any pet peeves? If so, what are they?
Yes, I have a real problem with people’s driving…Now whether that’s my fault or their fault, that’s to be determined. 🙂
What is your most memorable moment at Friendship?
I’ll never forgot my first few times of coming to Friendship. I still remember the exact people that came up and spoke to me and made me feel comfortable. The next week, they even remembered details about me! Fantastic welcome team 🙂

What is your favorite part of Sunday mornings at Friendship?
My favorite part would be the singing worship! Some of the songs just speak to my heart and it’s just what I need to reset for the new week.
Which household chore is do you dread doing?
It would have to be laundry or dishes. I need a maid.
What is your proudest moment in life?
The proudest moment would be first when I got baptized and second when I graduated college. So far I’ve been the only one in my family to graduate from college. Despite not using my degree I’m still very proud of my hard work.
What are you guilty pleasure foods?
Probably the Mexican I so enjoy! Not very good for me but so yummy in my tummy!
What is your favorite day of the week?
Definitely Saturdays! I can enjoy the day and know I still have one more day to my weekend.
