Only when I let go of my plans can I fully embrace God’s plans!

Priscilla

Don’t allow a painful circumstance to become a permanent liability

Acts 18:1-3 NET

After this Paul departed from Athens and went to Corinth. There he found a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had ordered all the Jews to depart from Rome. Paul approached them, and because he worked at the same trade, he stayed with them and worked with them (for they were tentmakers by trade).

Hebrews 12:15 NLT

Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.

Multiply your impact by mentoring others

Acts 18:24-26 HCSB

A Jew named Apollos, a native Alexandrian, an eloquent man who was powerful in the use of the Scriptures, arrived in Ephesus. This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught the things about Jesus accurately, although he knew only John’s baptism. He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. After Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him home and explained the way of God to him more accurately.

Utilize your resources to maximize your calling

1 Corinthians 16:9 NLT

The churches here in the province of Asia send greetings in the Lord, as do Aquila and Priscilla and all the others who gather in their home for church meetings.

Romans 16:3-5 NLT

Give my greetings to Priscilla and Aquila, my co-workers in the ministry of Christ Jesus. In fact, they once risked their lives for me. I am thankful to them, and so are all the Gentile churches. Also give my greetings to the church that meets in their home.

2 Timothy 4:19 NLT

Give my greetings to Priscilla and Aquila…

Priscilla was a Roman woman of noble birth who married a Jewish man. This woman was part of the first husband and wife evangelistic team in the history of the church and she became a spiritual mother to countless believers!

In fact, of the 7 times they are mentioned, 5 of them she is mentioned first. This is important, because it denotes that she was the more significant person in the duo, at least at the beginning. Yet, she never usurped, resented, or competed her husband, but rather worked alongside him, and helped him become better!
