How you handle money can determine whether your dreams are wrecked or realized! #BuildingALifeThatMatters
The 5:
A recap of Dave Crandall’s Message,
“Know What You’ve Got”
in 5 points or less.
- Being financially stable means that you manage the resources that God has provided in such a way that you are free to live and enjoy the purpose He’s given.
- The first step in learning how to handle the asset of money is to know what you’ve got!
- If God is the source of your dreams then He will also be the resource for your dreams!
- God is the provider, the resourcer, and He’s called us to manage all He’s given us well. To handle it with a Biblical responsibility that empowers us to pursue the dreams He’s placed in our heart.
- Don’t disengage emotionally, instead use your emotions. Make yourself realize that the $7 Latte could mean that you’ll never feel fulfilled; that the new car you have to have could keep you from enjoying your kids/grandkids the way you’d like; that the new pair of shoes, jacket, tool, piece of technology could delay the next big blessing God has for you! Because every time you spend money on one thing, it means you can’t invest it on another!

Kids Zone: Take It Home With You!
What We Learned:
We should set aside 10% of our first and our best for God! After that we can save 10% and be generous with the rest. The bible gives us all we need to know about money, and why it’s such a big part of our relationship with God. Starting out the right way with our money will help us set godly habits for our whole life!
In The Car:
Talk with your kids about how you tithe. Is it something your family is doing already, or is this series challenging you to start making changes in your financial life? Let them know how you are being challenged, and what changes you are making to put God first in everything!
At Bedtime:
Pray with your kids, thanking God for giving us his love so generously without holding back! Pray that as your kids grow they would make God a priority in their financial life, and that making godly habits now will be something that leaves an inheritance for their grandchildren’s children!
Weekly Challenge:
Know What You’ve Got, Use it for God!
This week kids are challenged to figure out what they have to offer God. If they earn allowance, they have been challenged to sit down with their parents to figure out a way to set aside their first 10% for God, to save 10% for later, and how to be generous with the rest. Setting up healthy financial principles now that will pay off later in life, will have infinite value!
