A little bit of change, over a long period of time, yields miraculous results! #ChristmasAtFriendship
You Can Change One Habit
#ChristmasAtFriendship has officially started! Yesterday you were challenged to ask yourself what small changes are you willing to make to experience a big difference in the end? Don’t be discouraged, don’t give in, stop beating yourself up. God’s not given up on you and He will see you through!
The 5:
A recap of Dave Crandall’s Message, “Tis the Season for Change”
in 5 points or less.
- What’s happened is we fallen into the deceptive lie of, “Bigger and Better”, when in reality the most effective and long-lasting way to change is “Little by Little”.
- All we need to do is make a few small changes, in a few small places that in the end will result in a massive difference and a positive outcome.
- Don’t get discouraged…Don’t give in…Stop beating yourself up.
- A change of heart can’t begin until you open your heart to Jesus.
- What’s keeping you from opening up your heart to the Christ of Christmas?

What We Learned:
Joseph was supposed to get married, but he found out his fiance was having someone elses baby. He was so hurt he wanted to divorce her, but God had a bigger plan! He needed Joseph to trust him, and to keep Mary as his wife. Joseph was blessed by God, and God trusted Joseph to raise his Son, Jesus Christ–the Savior of the World! Joseph obeyed God right away, and took Mary as his wife. Our Big Idea this week is Obeying God Brings Amazing Blessings! Read more of today’s lesson in Matthew 1:18-24
In The Car:
Ask everyone in the car to share about a time when they obeyed God, even when they didn’t understand what was going to happen next?
At Bedtime:
Read Matthew 1:18-24. Talk about how Joseph obeyed God, then praise your child for ways they obeyed you that day! Then pray with your child, thanking God for sending us his Son. Praise God for helping us obey, even when it’s hard. Thank him for his never ending love!
Weekly Challenge:
Obeying God Brings Amazing Blessings!
Practice obeying God like Joseph obeyed God in the Christmas story. What are ways you have obeyed God today? What are ways you can obey tomorrow? When you plan on doing things God’s way it helps your mind and your heart make the best choice! Remember, Obeying God Brings Amazing Blessings!
