Reach 1 - Coach Up - Multiply
The church is the hope of the world!
There’s nothing like the church when the church is working right!
The eternal destiny of my neighbor hangs in the balance so we better get it right!
Reach 1 – Coach Up – Multiply
Psalm 145:4 ESV
One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.
Psalm 71:18 NLT
Now that I am old and gray, do not abandon me, O God. Let me proclaim your power to this new generation, your mighty miracles to all who come after me.
The church is never more than one generation away from irrelevance!
Philippians 4:9 ESV
What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
Hebrews 13:7 ESV
Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.
2 Timothy 2:1-2 NCV
You then, Timothy, my child, be strong in the grace we have in Christ Jesus. You should teach people whom you can trust the things you and many others have heard me say. Then they will be able to teach others.
Spiritually Deep:
- Coach Up our Small Group Leaders
- Coach Up our Kids Ministry Leaders
- Coach Up our Student Ministry
- Coach Up our Leadership Team
Financially Stable:
- Coach Up our Financial Coaches:
Relationally Satisfied:
- Build/Coach up Marriage Coaches
The ongoing effectiveness of the church rests in the hands of those who are leading and teaching. If we don’t coach up the next ‘generation’ of followers of Jesus Christ, no one else will. But, it’s not just about what we teach or how we train, it’s also about how we live!
We also are responsible for the outcomes of the choices we make! Do you know that the Bible says that we are to even look at the children of those who want to be in leadership, because their children’s lives will reveal a lot about the parents?
And in Hebrews we are told to specifically look at the outcomes of their life to determine if they are someone we should follow or not.
Knowing how important passing on our faith to the next ‘generation’ is Paul commands his son in the faith, a young pastor, Timothy to be training up others, who could in turn train up others…
For the last 10 years at Friendship we’ve done a lot of ‘small scale’ leadership development. Primarily one on one, or with a small group of people. But, if we are going to truly reach out community we’ve got to do a better job of Coaching Up leaders/Coaches.
We applied for a grant from the Center for Congregations in August of this year. Our grant was specifically written to help us Coach Up our coaches so that they could be more effective in what they do (glorify God, effective/influential). I received word last month that the grant was approved for $15,000!!!
So, all throughout next year we are going to be sending our leaders and our coaches to conference after conference and then intentionally meeting with them to coach them up and invest in them, so that they can coach others to become Spiritually Deep, Financially Stable and Relationally Satisfied!
We’ll be doing virtual conference onsite with catering, taking leaders in our Kids Ministry to the Orange Conference in Atlanta, our Student Ministry Leaders will be attending a conference in Nashville, we have 3 Couples taking the Master Financial Coach from Dave Ramsey, and sending couples to Marriage Mentor Training!
Why in the world are we doing this as a church???”
Because, the church is never more than one generation away from irrelevance! So we want to do everything we can to equip the people who are equipping you to become Spiritually Deep, Financially Stable, and Relationally Satisfied!
Have you realized that you’ve been sitting on the sideline too much recently and you’re ready to stop being a consumer of church and start being a contributor to the church? Have you come to the conclusion that you’re done watching what God is doing and you’re ready to be a part of what God is doing? Join us here!
