What We Learned:
THE BIG IDEA: Tell the truth right away! In Genesis 20:1-18 Abraham lied about Sarah being his sister instead of his wife. Not only did he get in trouble by the king, but he sinned against God and put Sarah in danger! He was a good example of what NOT to do!
In the car:
Tell your kids about a time you lied, but your consequences turned out worse than if you had told the truth. Share with them what your rules are for lying, and why it’s ALWAYS better to tell the truth the first time right away!
At bedtime:
Pray with your kids thanking God that he always tells us the truth. Because God is true and faithful, we know we can trust him to always keep his promises. Even if people fail us, God is always there and always will be!
