Asking for a Friend | Part 4
Friday, September 11th 2020
You’ve got questions…but you are a little uncomfortable asking them out loud, so why don’t you ‘ask for a friend’!
We’ve all got questions, so let’s see if we can help get some answers together!
No question is off limits, and Dave will do his best to answer as many questions as possible, so ask away!
Check out this week’s questions in Asking for a Friend, Part Four
Q: While there is proof of dinosaurs, why are they never mentioned in the Bible, and why weren’t they in Noah’s ark?
Job 40:15-19 NLT
“Take a look at Behemoth, which I made, just as I made you. It eats grass like an ox. See its powerful loins and the muscles of its belly. Its tail is as strong as a cedar. The sinews of its thighs are knit tightly together. Its bones are tubes of bronze. Its limbs are bars of iron. It is a prime example of God’s handiwork, and only its Creator can threaten it.
Q: Should we be preparing for Christs return? It seems the world is getting crazier and scarier by the day.
Matthew 25:10-13 NLT
“But while they were gone to buy oil, the bridegroom came. Then those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked. Later, when the other five bridesmaids returned, they stood outside, calling, ‘Lord! Lord! Open the door for us!’ “But he called back, ‘Believe me, I don’t know you!’ So you, too, must keep watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my return.”
Q: As a Christian we shouldn’t be afraid of Christ’s return, so why does that scare me?
Q: What can you tell us about judgement day? If our sins are forgiven and forgotten what will we be judged on?
2 Corinthians 5:9-10 NIV
So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
Revelation 21:4 NLT
He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.
Q: If all good people go to Heaven, are there people going to live on earth at the end times?
Q: What about the resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous after the Great Tribulation?
Revelation 20:4-5 NIV
I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.
Revelation 20:11-15 NLT
And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death. And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.
