What We Learned:

Be Forgiving, because God forgives us! Forgiving someone doesn’t mean they immediately earn back your trust. But it does mean we release those bad feelings so they can’t weigh us down, and hold us back from experiencing God’s best!

In The Car:

Tell your kids about a grudge you held against someone. How did it make you feel every time you saw that person or thought of them? How did forgiving them, even if you never had the opportunity to tell them, give you peace and freedom?

At Bedtime:

Read in the Bible with your kids Colossians 3:13. Pray with your kids, thanking God for his never ending love and forgiveness. Thank God that we can bring anything to him in prayer, and that he will forgive us no matter how many times we mess up. Pray that he would help us to forgive others who wrong us as completely as he forgives us.

Weekly Challenge:

Be Forgiving!

Kids have been challenged this week to forgive others like God forgives us! If they are holding a grudge, they have been challenged to let that grudge go by:

  • Telling God you forgive them
  • Tell the person face to face you forgive them (if possible)
  • Live it out, Don’t soak and sour!

By being forgiving like God we give others the freedom to experience his love, and we give ourselves the freedom to experience his peace!
