I am confident, because I know my God!

I am confident, because I know my God!

Psalm 57:7 NLT
My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises!

I know my God is always for me!

Romans 8:31 NIV
If God is for us, who can ever be against us?

Hebrews 10:35 NLT
So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!

I know my God will always help me!

Hebrews 13:5-6 NIV
…”Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid!”

Psalm 46:1 NIV
God is our refuge and strength and ever-present help in trouble.

Psalm 27:1-3 NIV
The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.

I know my God is still working in me!

Philippians 1:6 NIV
…Being confident of this, that he (GOD) who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Psalm 27:13-14 NIV
I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

John 3:16 NIV
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Over the past 5 weeks we have made declarations being Optimistic…Grateful…Encouraging…Generous…Enthusiastic…

What about Confident?

Self-confidence is self delusional sometimes!  You ever met someone who was overly and incorrectly self-confident?
The 5’ 3” guy who talks smack about wanting to dunk on you

The city kid who wants to lecture on farming
The suburban mom who thinks she can rap just like Cardi B and dance like Shakira

Self-confidence will always, eventually betray you and that’s the best case scenario. Because more often then not your self-confidence will let you down in a very public way, and it will end up humiliating you because you’ll fall flat on your face trying to do something you should have never tried to begin with.

As Christians our confidence should never come from ourselves, instead our confidence is placed in God. Having confidence in God makes sense when we know God and becomes easier as that relationship grows, because God’s power, strength, and faithfulness have been proven again and again. And, even if you are a new Christian and maybe you’ve not had a lot of experience yet with trusting God, you can read your Bible and see recorded for you within it’s pages time after time when God showed up.

The truth is the more you know God, the more confident in God you become.

Sharing with you three truths I know about God, my hope is that as you read them, as you see them from Scripture it will cause 2 things to happen:
1) Your confidence in God to grow
2) Your passion to get to know God better yourself will be ignited

I know my God is always for me!

I know my God will always help me!

I know my God is still working in me!

I may not be who I am supposed to be yet, but by God’s grace I am not who I was!

Commit to knowing God more this week!
