Every Christian is a potential 10 in at least one area!

Why does God give spiritual gifts?

  • To spread the message of Christ – Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
  • To equip and build the Body of Christ – Eph. 4:12
to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up
  • To encourage the people of Christ – 1 Cor 14:12
So it is with you. Since you are eager for gifts of the Spirit, try to excel in those that build up the church.

Every Christian is a potential 10 in at least one area!

You have been given a Perfect Gift

James 1:17 NLT
Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.

Your gift is Unique, Different, and Essential

1 Corinthians 12:18-21 NLT
But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it.  How strange a body would be if it had only one part! Yes, there are many parts, but only one body. The eye can never say to the hand, “I don’t need you.” The head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you.”

You will be Held Accountable for using Your Gift

Matthew 25:25-27 NLT
I was afraid I would lose your money, so I hid it in the earth. Look, here is your money back.’ “But the master replied, ‘You wicked and lazy servant! If you knew I harvested crops I didn’t plant and gathered crops I didn’t cultivate, why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank? At least I could have gotten some interest on it.’

You must Cultivate Your Gift

1 Timothy 4:14-15 NLT
Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received through the prophecy spoken over you when the elders of the church laid their hands on you. Give your complete attention to these matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress.

God doesn’t give bad, defective, or ill-fitting gifts. Therefore the gift that you’ve been given is an absolute perfect fit for you, your personality, and it perfectly fits within the body of Christ!

Unity Demands Diversity!

The gift you’ve received is indeed perfectly fitted to you, but if you don’t practice it, if you don’t refine it, if you don’t give it the proper care and the proper training then you will never experience the full potential that you have in Christ.
