At Friendship we believe the Church is not a building, it’s people, serving together to glorify God as an effective and influential church. So, each week, we’ll highlight a volunteer or staff member who serves at Friendship, because our volunteers and staff make everything we do possible! We’ve asked each person some fun questions to help you get to know them better.

This week we’re getting to know Scott Rondeau, one of our Welcome Team Leaders.

What brought you to Friendship originally?
We started bringing our girls Addison and Alyssa to Friendship Kids. We were continuously invited by the staff there and going through a tough time in our marriage we decided to try it out! 4 years and counting now!

Do you have any pets?
We have 2 pets. An 11 year old Rott/Lab mix and just got an 8 week old Rottweiler.

What do you do for a living/career?
I am the 1st shift production Supervisor at Hoosier Tool and Die.  We are a machine shop in Columbus,IN

What would be your biggest fear?
My biggest fear is being trapped in a room full of spiders….or just 1 spider, I hate spiders….or drowning after being bit by a spider because they are evil and drowning would be a quick second on the list.

If you had to choose one food to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
If I had to eat just one food it would have to be pizza.

What is your most memorable moment at Friendship?
My most memorable moment of Friendship is the night Sarah and I were baptized.

What is your favorite thing about volunteering?
My favorite part of volunteering is the satisfaction of knowing that I can make a difference in someone’s day. I know I was in a bad place when I started attending and I never felt alone at Friendship. As much as I tried to stay to myself at first, there was always someone smiling or asking how my week went and inviting me to small groups and other functions. I feel blessed to be able to return that feeling to guests that I come across week after week.

Where were you born?
I was an Army brat and was born in Frankfurt, Germany. My parents to this day still love to show me the picture of myself in a lederhosen when I was little!

What is your proudest moment in life?
My proudest moment…I would have to go with 3 on this question. In 2006 I had the privilege and honor of marrying my best friend Sarah! In 2007 Our first daughter Addison was born. Then in 2010, daughter #2 Alyssa joined our family.

What is your favorite day of the week?
My favorite day of the week has to be Friday’s. I work 4 days a week, very long hours. So when Friday rolls around I get to sleep in a little, have lunch with my daughters at school and have some quiet time!
