"My favorite thing about volunteering is to watch others grow in their faith. It's amazing to see someone take that next step."

At Friendship we believe the Church is not a building, it’s people, serving together to glorify God as an effective and influential church. So, each week, we’ll highlight a volunteer or staff member who serves at Friendship, because our volunteers and staff make everything we do possible! We’ve asked each person some fun questions to help you get to know them better.

This week we’re getting to know Sarah Rondeau, one of our Friendship Creative vocalists.

What brought you to Friendship originally?
Our oldest daughter Addison was attending the Friendship Kids Preschool and several of the teachers invited us on multiple occasions. We decided to try it out the first Sunday in January 2012, and we rarely ever miss a Sunday!

Do you have any pets?
We have two rottweilers. Kyra is 11 and Diesel is 8 weeks old. We love rotties….they’re huge babies!

What is your favorite holiday?
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. It’s easy to take the things we have for granted. And let’s face it….the food is always amazing!

Do you have any hobbies during your spare time?
I love to work in my yard. There’s something very rewarding about seeing your hard work blossom into a beautiful flower or plant.

What would be your biggest fear?
My biggest fear is failure. I strive for perfection in everything I do, and it’s hard to remind myself that there is only ONE PERFECT PERSON, and that is Jesus Christ.

If you had to choose one food to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
My favorite food by far is pizza. I could probably eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day if I had to.

If you had a super power, what would it be?
If I could have a super power, I would love to be able to read people’s minds. I actually feel like I’m getting pretty good at guessing anyway because my kids and my husband give me lots of practice with attempting it! 🙂

What is your favorite scripture?
My favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

What is your most memorable moment at Friendship?
There are so many memorable moments that I have at Friendship, but I would have to say the time that my husband and I were baptized together was the best.

What is your favorite thing about volunteering?
My favorite thing about volunteering is to watch others grow in their faith. It’s amazing to see someone take that next step.
