R E S T

Yesterday Pastor Dave shared four things that God will do in our lives when we rest. It’s in that resting that God will produce his blessing! During this pivotal moment in our history, let’s embrace the rest that He has promised.

The 5:

A recap of Dave Crandall’s Message, “A Year of Rest & Reclamation”
in 5 points or less.

  1. God has commanded that we need rest, that we can’t run at 100 miles an hour all day and make it.
  2. When we rest God refreshes our inner being.
  3. When we rest God renews our will to go on.
  4. When we rest God rebuilds our hope for the future.
  5. When we rest God reveals our source of peace.

What We Learned:

Influence can be a good or a bad thing, no matter what we choose to do–we will wind up having an influence on someone else. In the Bible Peter wasn’t afraid to influence others in a positive way. He told them truth even against some scary circumstances. Because Peter wasn’t afraid to follow Jesus, over 3,000 people made the choice to follow Jesus too! Read more in Acts 2 in your Bible.

In The Car:

Tell your kids about someone who influenced you as a child. Was it good or bad? How did their influence help you grow closer to God, or did it have the opposite effect?

At Bedtime:

Pray with your kids, thanking God for sending us the truth of his word, the Bible. Pray that as they grow, you would be the biggest influence on their relationship with Jesus Christ. That because of your example, they would grow to love Jesus more and more every day!

Weekly Challenge:

This week kids are challenged to influence someone in a positive way for Jesus.  They could invite them to church, be nice to them even if that person doesn’t really deserve it, or go out of their way to serve someone else.  As we learn about the VISION of Friendship Church we continue to challenge the kids to love others like Jesus. Who can you influence for Jesus this week?
