John 15:12 NLT

This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.

  • Phileo – a friendship or companionship love
  • Eros – a romantic or passionate love
  • Storge – an affectionate or familial love
  • Agape – an unconditional or unrestrained love

Human love says, “I’ll love you if…”
God’s love says, “I’ll love you even…”

Ephesians 2:3-5 NLT

All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else. But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)

For the men…

  • Compliment everyday without it being requested
  • Talk with her about what’s going on with you
  • Listen to and respect her opinion

For the women…

  • Affirm his masculinity daily
  • Communicate in his language
  • Honor his decisions with respect

Ephesians 5:31-33 NLT

As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

Women feel most loved when they are cherished.
Men feel most loved when they are respected.
