At Friendship we believe the Church is not a building, it’s people, serving together to glorify God as an effective and influential church. So, each week, we’ll highlight a volunteer or staff member who serves at Friendship, because our volunteers and staff make everything we do possible! We’ve asked each person some fun questions to help you get to know them better.

Meet Kaleb Pope. When he’s not “tickling the ivories” on the Friendship Creative Worship Team, he’s serving alongside his wife Michelle in Kids Zone.

What brought you to Friendship originally?
I grew up in church and even became a youth leader at my old church. When Michelle and I moved to Indianapolis, we desperately wanted to be a part of a church that had something for the “younger folks”. I was searching the World Wide Web and came across Friendship. We listened online for a few weeks and then decided to give it a go. We love Friendship and we love that we have a church that our family can grow with for many years.

Do you have any hobbies during your spare time?
The arts have always had a special place in my heart, especially when it comes to acting. I am a director and have directed over 11 successful shows and acted in several more. I believe with all my heart that God has a plan for me in the world of acting and directing.

Who inspires you the most?
One of my biggest inspirations would have to be Tim Burton. He has such a dark and artistic way of telling his stories. If you were to ask the actors and stage crew that I work with, they could tell you right away who inspires my work.

What is your most memorable moment at Friendship?
My most memorable moment at Friendship would be the first time we attended. We were both very nervous, but also very excited, so what did we do? We sat second row from front right behind the pastor’s family (which we did not know at the time). I was singing my heart out to the awesome worship music going on. Traci Crandall then turned around and said “you can sing!” And the rest is history. I have been serving on the worship team for many years and wouldn’t have it any other way.

What has been your favorite Friendship series?
My favorite series at Friendship would have to be the Weird series.

What would be your biggest fear?
My biggest fear is definitely needles. From a young age running out of the doctor’s office to needing a juice box when I have to go and get blood work done.

Which cartoon character is your favorite?
Popeye is my all time favorite cartoon character.

If you had to choose one food to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
If I had to choose one food to eat the rest of my life it would have to be pizza with a root beer as the drink.

What would be your dream vacation?
My dream vacation would be going to London.

Name one person, living or deceased, that you would like to have a conversation with.
One person I would love to have a conversation with would be Gene Wilder, that would be the most entertaining conversation ever.
