How you love, reveals why you love. #LoveIs

LoveIs_SM18

The 5:

  1. Jesus loves you, not because of who you are, but because of who He is.
  2. The love God has for us is the reason we have love for others.
  3. When we love out of the overflow of God’s love for us, our potential for love becomes limitless.
  4. God is the author of love, the source, and the very essence of love itself.
  5. God gave us as human beings the gift of love, He gave us a part of himself. When we love others we are expressing an essential attribute of God.

Kids Zone: Take It Home With You!

What We Learned:

The Bible is filled with strange occurrences and odd events. Elijah had lived to serve the Lord. God honored his faithfulness by taking him up to heaven in a chariot of fire, sparing him from experiencing death. Elijah’s successor Elisha was also honored for his faithfulness by receiving a double portion of the spirit that had rested on Elijah. The BIG IDEA this week was God honors our faithfulness!

In the Car:

Go out of your way this week to point out your kids’ faithfulness. It might be homework done on time, chores performed without asking, or kindness shown to friends or siblings. Reward them for their faithfulness with more of your time and attention. The more we encourage their faithfulness, the more we will see it from them! Kids repeat what is rewarded with your attention whether good or bad.

At Bedtime:

Read 1 Corinthians 2:9, and tell your children that reading the Bible is a way we can be faithful to God. Pray with your kids, thanking God for ALWAYS being faithful to us. God always keeps his promises. Thank God that he is always faithful! Pray that you would show him your faithfulness everyday in some way.
