God created two genders to complement and complete each other!

Genesis 1:26-28  NLT
Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

Isaiah 43:7 CEV
They are my people—I created each of them to bring honor to me.

God created two genders to complement and complete each other!

Matthew 19:4-6 NCV
Jesus answered, “Surely you have read in the Scriptures: When God made the world, ‘he made them male and female.’ And God said, ‘So a man will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife, and the two will become one body.’ So there are not two, but one. God has joined the two together, so no one should separate them.”

Sexuality and gender are fixed by the calling of God

Sexuality and gender are gifts to be celebrated

Sexuality and gender are a reflection of God himself

Genesis 3:16-19 NIV
To the woman he said, “I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”

To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’ “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”

Romans 1:21,24-27  NLT
Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused….So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.

Day 1 – God separated and named Light & Dark

Day 2 – God separated and named Earth & Sky

Day 3 – God separated and named Dry Land & Sea

Day 4 – God separated and named Day & Night

Day 5 – God created and separated that which swims in the sea & flies in the air

Day 6 – God created animals and separated them into Tame/Livestock and wild

When God created two genders He created them to complement and complete each other, not to criticize and compete with each other.

Matthew 19:4-6 NCV
‘…male and female he created them’ God literally created the terminology of male and female

‘…be fruitful and multiply…’ God created sex! He defined it as between a man and a woman

‘…united with his wife, two become one…God joined together…’ God created marriage and defined it as between a husband and wife

‘…the two will become one body, so there are not two, but one…’ in the context of marriage our sexuality is to be enjoyed freely and frequently, not just for reproduction, but for pleasure. In this most vulnerable state the husband and the wife complete each other, this allows them to find a deeper connection of oneness in every other area of life.

God gave masculinity and femininity as gifts to mankind. They are to be honored, valued, given dignity, and shown equality. God created/established male and female with intentionality…it was not an accident or afterthought…and in His own image. Each brings a unique, distinct, and complementary qualities to our world, our society, and relationships across the board. Without them, if we homogenize and disregard the divine differences we become monolithic, bland, lifeless…

However, when we embrace God’s plan, as parents we can raise daughters who grow up to accept and enjoy their femininity, knowing that being a girl is a good gift from God, and they use the image of God within them to bring light and beauty into our world. Likewise, we can raise sons that grow up to be healthy men who embrace their masculinity and see it as a good gift from God, who will use the image of God in them to bring strength and vitality into our world. The world as God designed it and desires it to be is neither bland nor lifeless, but full of contrast, variety, color, and beauty.

Men, God made you a man so that you in your masculinity could reflect the power and the majesty of God to the world around you. In your masculinity you should be pointing a light to God….he’s just like his father!

Ladies, God mad you a woman so that in your femininity you could display the beauty and creativeness of God to the world around you. In your femininity you should be spotlighting your Father…she get’s that from her dad!

We are each and everyone of us unique. We are not frogs, turtles, birds, donkeys, or even monkeys, we are humans! And as humans we have stamped upon each of us a divine dignity given to us by God the Father himself. But man oh man, what a mess we’ve made of this awesome dignity bestowed upon us.

Genesis 3:16-19 NIV
God has set apart a very specific order in human sexuality. When we attempt to deconstruct or redefine them, we discover that there are tremendously negative consequences for both men/women, sexuality in general, individuality and identity, marriage, family, and society as a whole.
