The object of our love becomes the god of our lives! #LoveIs

The 5:

A recap of Dave Crandall’s Message, “What Do We Love Most?” in 5 points or less.

  1. When we love God we are captivated by His presence, filled with contentment and satisfaction, and all the while confident that no matter what is happening in this life, it’s not the end!
  2. God desires more for you. He doesn’t want you to live ashamed, empty, and uncertain.
  3. What do we love most? It’s essential as a follower of Christ to sop and ask this question. The answer is revealed by how we invest our time, how we spend our money, what we think about most, what we place as our highest value.
  4. It doesn’t matter how deep you’ve gone in to that pit, God’s love is deeper.
  5. There’s more to this life than just this life.

What We Learned:

Jesus and Peter needed money to pay the temple tax, so Jesus had Peter go fishing to find a coin in a fish’s mouth.  This lesson taught us that God Meets Our Every Need, sometimes in weird or unexpected ways!

In The Car:

Play a Thankfulness game. It’s easy to confuse Wants with Needs. Have everyone in the car take turns listing things you really can’t live without, and telling God thank you for them! Was there ever a time you had a need in order to survive? How did God meet that need?

At Bedtime:

Pray with your kids! Take time to be thankful for the needs God has met that we tend to take for granted: food, clean water, family, a place to sleep. Pray with your kids, thanking God for loving you and meeting all of your needs.
