Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; Defend the rights of the poor and needy. Proverbs 31:8-9

Reading for today: Proverbs 31:1-31

We as Christians have a responsibility to do our best to look out for those who cannot take care of themselves. James says, “…pure and spotless religion…cares for widows and orphans…” We are usually so willing to let government and agencies help out when we ourselves could be of service to people. You may not be able to help them financially, but certainly with care, comfort, and prayer. Next time you see or come across someone in need, don’t dismiss them so quickly, instead take some time and do what you can for those who cannot do for themselves.
