When It Rains, He Pours

I don’t know why, but I am consistently surprised and taken off guard when life gets tough even though Jesus himself said that “in this world you will have trouble” (John 16:33). Every time it comes unexpectedly. It’s never just one thing either. It’s always one thing added to another thing on top of this other thing.

It’s a while, big…thing.

It seems as they say “when it rains, it pours”. But I am trying to fight through that this time. I am beginning to see the internal battle that takes place when bad things happen one right after another. The battle, for me, is to give up or not.

Throw in the towel.

Cash in my chips.

Swallow it down like everything is really OK.

I know its hard to remember, but I urge us all to remember that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8) and that He is with us through all of this mess.

“And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” [Matthew 28:20]

You see, when it rains, HE pours His love out on us. Seldom early, but never late.
