How does your behavior measure up to what you claim to believe? In Ephesians 4:25-32 Paul gives us some very practical ideas on how to live. We should “put off” lying, anger, stealing, corrupt speech, and that which grieves the Spirit.
Do these words describe how you are or how you used to be?
Can others see Christ by your Christian walk? Do they want Christ in their lives because of what they see? Are you hindering others from becoming a Christian by your walk?
How should a Christian walk or live? What is the Christian life really supposed to look like? Ephesians 4:1-2 says, “As a prisoner of the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”
If you find yourself struggling in your walk, in your relationship with God I strongly urge you to get into His Word. If you are struggling in your marriage I highly propose for you to go to God in prayer and turn to His Word for answers, and know there are people here at Friendship who are genuine and want to help you and not condemn or judge you, we all have problems, you’re not alone. If you find yourself unable to forgive others or those you love for hurtful things done to you, ask God to soften your heart and to give you a passion for forgiveness.
If you are looking at your life right now and all you see is yourself and the things that you want that make you happy, please understand that is not how God wants you to go through your life and through each day, doing only that which is pleasing to you. That is the tall tale sign of a selfish heart. Read the above verse again it says, “bearing with one another in selfishness.” No, in love… and love is not selfish. Listen to what is said in James 3:16, “For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.” I know it is hard to change how you have been living your life up to now, but God says, “Be Transformed.” Romans 12:2, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” We renew our minds by the daily reading of God’s Word.
What you feed your mind most influences your decisions. So I’ll ask once more. What’s on the menu for today?
Be the Blessing!
