Tongue Guard

Have ever said something you shouldn’t have and immediately wished you could take it back like it never happened? You can visually see the words leaving your mouth and your deepest desire is to whip out some rope and lasso it back to the depths of the sea.

The Bible mentions the tongue as the body’s worst enemy. It can cause so much hurt or so much joy. With the same mouth we can say “I love you” and “I hate you”.

James speaks of the tongue when he writes, “With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.” [James 3:9-10 ESV]

I ask you this question: How CAN this be so in our lives? Do you see anything wrong with this picture?

Your response is everything.
