The Things In Your Way!
Throughout life you will encounter obstacles to your path. Sometimes those obstructions are sent by God to stop you in your tracks because you are headed in the wrong direction. At other times they are meant to slow you down to make you think to refine your resolve. How do you know the difference?
I was asked a great question last night, “How do you know if the dream you are following is the one God has for you?”
Well, I can honestly say I don’t know what God’s dream for your life is or whether or not your following the right one. I have, however, figured out the “formula” for making sure your headed in the right direction. Listen to what Solomon had to say in answer to that question:
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones.
Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce.
Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.
My child, don’t reject the LORD’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you.
For the LORD corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.
Proverbs 3:5-12
Pretty simple isn’t it? If you trust God and seek His will above all else He will make sure your headed in the right direction!
