“Surprise”
1 Peter 4: 12Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.
Every time I see this verse I chuckle to myself. You see I do the very thing it says not to do…”get surprised”. I mean I get deer in the head lights surprised! The sad thing is that sometimes it’s days before I actually recognize what’s going on and get the right perspective. I don’t know how long it will take before my trials do not come as a surprise to me; I have always been a little hard headed. However, I do plan to preserver and hope that each trial God allows to come into my life I will handle with more grace than the time before and without so much astonishment. I hope knowing your not alone will challenge you to take a deep breathe get God’s prespective and press on through whatever trial you may be in the midst of.
