Straight Up Giving
At Christmas there are usually two types of people in regards to gifts. Those who enjoy the experience of giving gifts more than receiving gifts, and those that get no pleasure from that but LOVE receiving gifts. Honestly, I love receiving gifts. It is rapidly climbing up the ladder on my love languages. I have also loved giving gifts. I share this with my mom. We both get so excited to see people experience the joy of opening that special gift that we know they’re going to love.
I love to give.
I love to receive.
Matter of fact, I think we are all on both sides of that at least a little.
But in our quest to live a blessed life, can we really believe that it’s better to receive than to give?
“And I (Paul) have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: `It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”" (Acts 20:25, NLT)
Let’s step up our giving this year, and not just financially. Let’s set the trend of the love of Christ in our family, church, and community and give.
Your response is everything.
