Stay In School

I remember when I was in high school all I wanted was to be out of there so I could be “grown up”. I didn’t want to have any more have-to’s or assignments to stress over. I didn’t want to be forced to learn anymore. I had had almost 18 years of it, and I was done.

I went on to college and fell in love with learning. Now I wish I had taken learning more seriously in high school instead of focusing on having a good time. College was the best learning experience of my life to this day.

While the Bible doesn’t litterally say to “stay in school” it does tell us that we’re stupid if we are not continually seeking after knowledge and wisdom.

“A wise person is hungry for knowledge,
while the fool feeds on trash.” (Proverbs 15:14, NLT)

You may have kids starting back to school now. Use this opportunity to get them excited about learning and seeking knowledge. Ask God that he would give you a heart of wisdom and understanding. Pray that he would give you a desire for knowledge over self-indulgence.

Your response is everything.
