Sometimes You Must Wait
In our hurry up, get it now, fast food drive-thru lives, waiting is rarely a positive option. The only times we have to wait is when things aren’t running efficiently, or there’s a slow or untrained clerk behind the counter. Both of which lead to greater frustration and higher stress levels.
But, there is a positive type of waiting that God calls us to. It is waiting to hear his still small voice, waiting on Him to show us the next step, waiting just for waiting sake to calm our spirit and renew our strength. David wrote about one of his times of waiting this way…
I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD. – Psalm 27:13-14 (niv)
Friends, take heart! Be confident that God’s graciousness and love for you will show itself strong in this life and the next. Wait for the Lord to move on your behalf, because only when God is ready to move will the waiting be over.
