Rejoice During The Test
1Peter 4:12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.
We act as though when trials and sorrows come our way we are completely thrown for a loop. “Why is this happening to me?” are the words that are uttered from our mouth over and over. Anger and resentment exude from our emotions as though God is intentional trying to harm us. We easily forget that Christ himself suffered from one hardship after the next; from one betrayal or person mocking his character.
People we have to get off our high horse and realize life is hard! We are going to have good times but we are also going to have hardships. We need to recognize them for what they are and find the attitude that God wants us to obtain during this particular “test”. Only then will we learn how to rejoice in all that God allows us to experience.
