Proverbs 17:14 Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out.

A dam is usually built on a higher level, if a hole is created it won’t just be a hole it will more than likely break and become larger because of its position. In this case you have created a situation that is out of control and consuming everything in its path.

Many of our “issues” are matters that if thought through, prayed over, and put into perspective would either naturally work themselves out or not be such the “big deal” they originally were. Prayer, time, and perspective gives a situation the opportunity to be handled in a productive manner instead of destructive. Next time you get upset about a situation allow yourself the time to enter into a conversation that will build up and/or strengthen your relationships and those around you.
