Property Management

So what is this Christian life all about anyway? Ultimately we are meant to glorify God in everything that we do (Colossians 3:23 & 1 Corinthians 10:31). That’s why we say that to worship God is to “live a life in RESPONSE to Him”.

But how can we equate that to everyday living? What does that literally look like?

“This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.”
[1 Corinthains 4:1, ESV]

First off, we are servants. We are to serve others for the glory of Christ, not of ourselves.

But I want to focus on that second title: “stewards”. What is a “steward” anyway? Don’t you mean “flight attendant”???

Our English dictionary defines a steward as “a person employed to manage another’s property“.

We are property managers. Whose property are we managing? God’s property. The things of God. We take those things seriously. It’s our job. What are these things?…

“For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”
[Colossians 1:16-17, ESV]

Your response is everything.
