Political Correctness Is Ruining A Whole Lot!

For the last several weeks we’ve heard non-stop about the “Swine Flu” that is until the politically correct police informed us that it was offensive to certain people to call it that, so they changed it too, “H1N1”…REALLY!!! 

If this so called “correctness” was only impacting the naming of colds it wouldn’t be that big of a deal.  The problem is that it has infiltrated the church and the teaching of the Word of God.  Instead of calling sin, “sin” it’s called mistakes or bad choices, because we would hate to offend somebody by saying they are sinners.  The Bible is called a “good book of teachings” instead of the infallible and inerrant words of God himself, because there are other religious books out there, we shouldn’t be exclusive you know!

Here’s the problem, we are politically correcting ourselves and those around us directly away from the heart of God.  Listen to the “correctness” of Jesus Christ… 

“And you know the way to where I am going.”  “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?”  Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.  If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!”  Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.”  Jesus replied, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you?  Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me.  Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. – John 14:4-11NLT

So, let’s stop striving for “political correctness” and focus on “Biblical Correctness”.  One makes people wimps, and the other changes people’s eternal destiny…which one will you choose?
