Move

Summertime is upon us in full force and for most, this is a season of a little R&R. While you should rest, don’t let the life God has called you to live just sit and become stale all summer.

Just before the apostles witnessed Jesus ascend into heaven, He told them to get on the move:

“And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
(Acts 1:8, NLT)

Once He ascended, they were all standing around amazed by what they just saw. Then, …

“As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them.  “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!”
(Acts 1:10-11, NLT)

Yes, rest and be awestruck at who Jesus is and what He does. But then, get on the move. Don’t waste your summer.
