Satisfaction with life is found by enjoying God’s blessings. -Dave Crandall #Conquer2016

The 5:

A recap of  Dave Crandall’s message “Conquer Satisfaction” in 5 points or less.

  1. Happiness is about being happy in your life; satisfaction is being happy about how your life is turning out!
  2. We can enjoy God’s blessings when we enjoy the moment, enjoy those around you, enjoy what you have, and enjoy following God.
  3. We each have a choice in this life, we can follow God, reach our full potential, submit to his leading in our lives, or we can do things on our own, our own way, following our own desires. The first path leads to enjoyment and satisfaction with life, the second leads to death.
  4. The ability to follow God begins with the willingness to surrender to God.
  5. You see apart from God not only will you not experience the rich satisfying life that he promises you in this life, but you also are rejecting His promises for eternity, the life to come. God desperately desires to bless you with a rich and satisfying life today, and with eternal life forever, but our sinfulness, stubbornness, and pride keeps us from humbly accepting this gift.

What We Learned:

The wisest thing we can do when faced with temptation is RUN! We learned about Joseph and how he was tempted in Genesis 39:1-12. This week kids are challenged to talk with their parents about what temptations they are faced with everyday. They were challenged to come up with a plan for how to Get Away when they are tempted!

In The Car:

Share with your kids some of the wisdom your parents and mentors shared with you! What advice was the most valuable, and what would you have done differently? Tell them how that wisdom has helped shape who you are today.

At Bedtime:

Read Proverbs 9:10 together in your Bible. Pray for your kids to listen to the special people God has put in their life.
