The 5:

A recap of Dave Crandall’s Message, “Living Your Purpose”
in 5 points or less.

  1. This world wants to distract us, God wants to focus us!
  2. The key to being able to do what you love is to love what you are currently doing! Serving God is not supposed to be a drudgery; it’s supposed to be something that you find joy, pleasure, and fulfillment in.
  3. Once we find joy in God, then he makes it His responsibility to bless us with what we love!
  4. God takes all of your life experiences—whether positive or painful, intentional or accidental, caused by you or by someone else, to shape you for His unique calling in your life.
  5. God is working in everything in your life to accomplish His purpose for you.

What We Learned:

God created each and every one of us with a special purpose! We are the only person made exactly how God designed and gifted us to serve him and serve in his church in a very special way. Kids were challenged to identify their unique gifts and talents, and to think of way they can use those gifts to serve others. Check out more about what we learned in your bible in Romans 12:1-12.

In The Car:

What are your God-given gifts and talents? Take turns sharing what you are good at, then as a family come up with ways you can all use those talents to serve others!

At Bedtime:

Pray with your kids thanking God for his amazing blessings! Thank him for gifting you with special talents and skills that you can use to honor him, and to bless others. Thank God for the opportunity to serve him, and ask him to show you just how you can use those talents to server others?

Weekly Challenge:

Live Out Your Purpose!

What has God gifted you to do?  How can you use that gift or talent this week to serve others?  Maybe you can visit a nursing home and sing a song for someone lonely, perhaps you can call your grandparents just to say “I love you,” or maybe you can help your parents with chores around the house.  Whatever your talent or gift, find a way to use it and live out your purpose God has for you!
