At this my heart pounds and leaps from its place. Listen! Listen to the roar of his voice, to the rumbling that comes from his mouth. He unleashes his lightning beneath the whole heaven and sends it to the ends of the earth. After that comes the sound of his roar; he thunders with his majestic voice. When his voice resounds, he holds nothing back. God’s voice thunders in marvellous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding. – Job 37:1-5
When you think about God does you heart leap from your chest? Do you get excited when you know it’s about time for you to sit down and spend some time just you and God? If not, then why not? What have you allowed to steal first place away from God, what “thing” has wrestled your attention away from the Magnificient One?
We might be tempted to think that it has something to do with how God is dealing with us right now, but may I remind you that God is unchangeable, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So, if your love for God has cooled lately, there’s only one place to look…the mirror.
