Hot or Cold?

Have you ever accidentally drank lukewarm water? Maybe it was a coke, lemonade, coffee, or hot chocolate. When you drank it, you probably let it sit in your mouth for a moment as you had a moment of regret followed quickly by a “what-do-I-do-now?” moment. It’s already in your mouth. Should you drink it? Or should you spit it out? Either way, I’m sure it was not an enjoyable experience. It was neither refreshing or soothing.

They way you felt about that lukewarm beverage is the way God feels about us when we are not ALL for HIM.

“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” [Revelation 3:15-17 NIV]

God desires that we desire Him above any other. That we would be completely sold out to Him.
