Hard Work & Divine Intervention!

I have talked/counseled with way too many people who want God to do all the work.  You know what I mean, “Well I prayed and God just didn’t take the desire away.” or “I asked God if it wasn’t what He wanted me to do, to give me a sign.”  or my all time favorite, “Well, I prayed about it and nothing happened.”  Listen to what Solomon has to say…
2 Tainted wealth has no lasting value, but right living can save your life.
3 The LORD will not let the godly go hungry, but he refuses to satisfy the craving of the wicked.
4 Lazy people are soon poor; hard workers get rich. - Proverbs 10:2-4
Solomon makes no bones about it, yes God desires to bless us, but it begins with us.  God will only begin to bless us as we are willing to make the changes necessary.  Notice it is those who “live right”; “the godly”; and the “hard workers” that God promises to watch over.

God is not a cosmic genie who wants us to sit back and snap our spiritual fingers for him to fix all of our problems.  He desires to partner with us as we follow him and his purposes for our lives.
