Getting Back To The Joy

A few days ago I was reading through Psalm 51 when a verse stood out strong to me.

“Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” [Psalm 51:12]

Too many times, those who have been Christians for a few years or longer tend to get in the “routine” of “doing church”. It’s like they’re on auto pilot each week. They’re here, but there is no real connection to the body or to God. This shouldn’t be.

If you are feeling stale in your faith, like there is no energy, passion, or motivation to desire God, then ask him the way the psalmist did. Ask Him to restore the joy of when you first came to know Him. Within that will come the passion and spirit of desire to follow God harder and with more love.
