Frequent Meditation

The other day I saw a guy on TV who claims for the past 20+ years he has meditated twice s day. He gets alone in room and just sits there with his eyes shut and meditates.

While at first I was a little put off by his “waste of time”, I’m realizing today that in some sense this guy had it right.

How often do I get alone and pray to God? I know I don’t have to sit in room all by myself for my prayers to be heard, but seriously, how often do I get alone with God and just pray? The answer is I never do that! I never find time to consistently and privately draw near to God. The demands of life, family, and ministry don’t spare any room for such an action. Not to mention how much time I would rather spend for “me”.

Jesus OFTEN WITHDREW and prayed. (Luke 5:16)

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. (Psalm 19:14)
