Does He Sleep?

Psalm 121 (New International Version)
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber.

Some afternoons I am so tired I just have to close my eyes. I tell my daughters to put a movie on and to let mommy take a nap. Of course that isn’t always successful. They either get hungry or end up in a debate over who knows more than the other. So naturally I wake up, cranky, groggy, and very short of patience. It’s a mess!

I’m so glad God isn’t like me. When I need help I don’t even have to wake Him up. He is already awake watching over me. He knows I need help before I know it, He knows this so well that He doesn’t even let my foot slip. Isn’t that amazing! We have the ultimate parent, a father like none other.

So when you look up to God and wonder if He hears you, if He’s even awake…The answer is right here in His promise to us!
