Chain of Fools

Galatians 5 is an amazing chapter when read to the heart of the artist. Especially right off the bat in verse 1.

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” [Galatians 5:1 NIV]

I often think that artists require more discipline because we are emotional beings and have a tendency to choose what feels good over what is righteous. But here, Paul says “Do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” he’s saying, don’t put yourself in chains. you cannot experience freedom when you chose to live in bondage.
