Building Your Home

By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. – Proverbs 24:3,4 NASB

Interesting isn’t it?  Of all the books on marriage, relationships, dating, etc… the Bible has the most counsel, to highest success rate (when followed), and has been the most influential for over 2,000 years, yet it’s the last one we pick up.

Because I’m a man I tend to think about things from the male perspective, and guys I gotta tell ya, there are way to many ‘males’ out there who are simply playing the part of a fool!  Notice what Solomon says about building your house:

  • Wisdom is the foundational piece that allows a family to really begin to take shape.  If you are not seeking wisdom with all your heart then you might as well assume that your house will never be what God wants it to be.
  • Understanding those within your family is the key to long relationships.  I hear so many men running around whining about how they don’t understand their wives, well guess what, that’s your job!  See 1 Peter 3:7
  • Knowledge brings with it every precious and pleasant possession.  Do you thirst for knowledge or are you complacent?

Men, start making some moves, start conquering some ground, start being the man God has called you to be and establish your home in wisdom, understanding, and knowledge!
