Body Types

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.  My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. - Psalm 139:13-16
There have been more than a few mornings that I have woken up and looked in the mirror only to be disgusted by the individual I see.  Whether it’s because I went to bed too late and can’t believe that I didn’t have the forsight to go to be earlier; or I’m paying for the extra slice of pizza at 11:30; or a myriad of other stupid decisions I’ve made!

Quite frankly it’s easy to be irritated with ourselves.  We know everything about us and why we make the decisions that we make and why we are in the shape, literally and figuratively, that we are in.

But, have you ever stopped, looked in the mirror and told God “thank you”.  Yes, the maker of the universe handmade you, and he did it for a specific purpose and plan that he laid out long before you were ever born.  You, when you walk in step with God, have the potential to fulfill every plan and every dream that God has for you, because He made you that way.

So, at your next potty break, look in the mirror and instead of sighing, breath a word of thanks and embrace God’s dream, that can be your reality, if you will only surrender!
