Bad Trade

I love Fantasy Football. I get hooked into this life-form a few years ago when we started an innocent little league at our church. Over the years I’ve had some accomplishments including the championship last year (see picture for proof). I’ve also had my fair share of losses. Included in those losses are some bad trades. At the beginning of this season, I traded the #1 RB in the league (at the time) for an unranked RB that I just had to have because he plays for my team. The guy I traded him to went on an eventual 10 game winning streak and won the number 1 seed in our current playoffs. My RB that I had to have, had a season ending injury at week 4. :(

That was a bad trade. I let my emotions get the best of me and traded what was best for what was an eventual flop.

This doesn’t just happen in my Fantasy Football Team. In happens to me and you in real life. We trade eternal things for temporary, “OK” things. We fall in love with creation rather than the Creator.

I’m guilty of this, and so are you.

“They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.” (Romans 1:25, NLT)

Your response is everything.
