Are You Desperate?

“O God, you are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you,
my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land
where there is no water.” [Psalm 63:1]

This is one of my favorite passages in the entire scriptures. When I read this first verse of this great psalm, I hear the desperation of David and how he longs for God. It makes me ask the question, “Am I this desperate for God?”. Does my body long for Him? Does my soul thirst for Him?

If He truly is our everything, we should have this type of desperation for God.
