Can a man carry fire next to his chest and his clothes not be burned? Proverbs 6:27
Reading for today: Proverbs 6:1-35
Just like there is no way this guy will not get burned carrying fire that close to Him, so you also cannot put yourself in tempting situations and continue not to sin. This wisdom from Solomon reminds us that if we want to stay on the path that God wants us to run on and obtain from habitual sin, we cannot put ourselves in situations and environments that may cause us to fall back into this. God’s Word says for us to “flee immorality” (1 Corinthians 6).
